Sexual Health Educator Full-time
Healing Our Spirit is committed to the prevention and reduction of
HIV/AIDS in Aboriginal communities of British Columbia. Workshops,
personal stories are used in a culturally based approach that supports
the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of life of
Aboriginal people. Under the supervision of the Education Coordinator
the Educator functions as member of a team and is responsible for
working with and delivering education workshops on Personal Awareness,
Sexual Health and HIV/AIDS prevention to Aboriginal communities
throughout British Columbia.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Proficient Facilitation/presentation
skills
Comfortable facilitating on HIV/AIDS and other Sexual Health related issues
Knowledge of Aboriginal history & culture with emphasis on BC Aboriginal communities
Completion of post-secondary program
Experience working with the Aboriginal communities of British Columbia
Self-motivated, self-directed, and ability to manage resources effectively
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office
Excellent interpersonal and professional skills
Be able to travel at anytime
Preference will be given to those of Aboriginal Ancestry
Have a valid B.C. Drivers License and vehicle
APHA’s are encouraged to apply
