Sandy Lambert
It gives me great pleasure to have been elected to
Council and Co Chair of Red Road HIV/AIDS Network Society; first of all
I like to thank RRHAN, the Aboriginal Community and everyone who
believes in me. The road that we are traveling has many challenges and
obstacles, but hearing our voices and working together we can make a
difference for those living with HIV/AIDS and those in the spirit
world.
I am a member of the TallCree First Nation located
in Fort Vermillion, Alberta. Growing up in various foster homes in the
lower mainland where I attended public school graduating with a grade
twelve diploma. In 1996 I was diagnosed with a staphylococcus infection
and full blown AIDS. After 3 years of advocating for people living with
Lipodystrophy (Buffalo Hump) a side effect, I was the first person to
receive Liposuction surgery paid by BC Medical setting a precedence.
With the skills and gained knowledge during my
working career I am able to contribute and help RRHAN with their
mandate as well our communities.
